How Does It Work?

Much like the laser treatments that we offer for skin revitalization and scar removal, when you choose laser stretch mark removal, you can see results in your skin. Stretch marks are caused when skin is stretched too far and loses its elasticity. The goal of laser stretch mark removal is to help tighten the skin and add elasticity back. Our lasers cause controlled damage to the skin, which causes the skin to begin to heal more naturally. Our end goal is to increase the collagen and elastin in the skin, causing your stretch marks to shrink and fade.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

The number of treatments that you need depends on several factors. These include stretch mark severity, desired results, and the size of the treated area. Every person is different, but we generally recommend starting with at least three treatments, then scheduling more if you don’t see your desired results. These treatments will be scheduled about three to four weeks apart as you allow your body to naturally heal and start to tighten between sessions.

What To Expect

While our laser stretch mark removal process is noninvasive, it may still be uncomfortable. This treatment is often described as feeling like multiple little pin pricks across the treated area. In some cases, you can apply topical numbing cream to the treatment area before your appointment. For a cream recommendation or to make sure it is safe to do so, consult with the Full Circle Health team beforehand.

We recommend wearing comfortable and loose-fitting clothing to your appointment since your skin will be tender after the treatment. It is regular for redness and slight swelling to last on your skin up to three weeks, and you can apply ice packs and topical healing agents intermittently.

The Cost Of Laser Stretch Mark Removal

Once again, this is another area that will vary depending on your needs, your number of treatments, and the size of the treated area. During your initial consultation, our team will discuss all of these factors to determine the price for your treatment. Unfortunately, since this is considered a cosmetic procedure, it is not normally covered by insurance. However, in some cases you may be able to pay with a health savings account to help reduce your out of pocket costs. You can discuss this option as well as financing with our office when you visit for your appointment.

How Long Does It Last?

Laser treatment has been shown to last for many years in patients, reducing their stretch marks or fully removing them. If you continue to take good care of your skin, partake in regular physical activity, and eat a healthy diet, you are more likely to see long-lasting results.

Laser Removal vs Other Treatments

Many individuals researching stretch mark removal will want to know how it stacks up against other treatment options. Some common choices include microdermabrasion, microneedling, and surgical removal. While surgery is likely to be the most permanent solution, it can also be the most painful and most expensive. Treatments like microneedling and microdermabrasion often cost less than laser treatments, but the results are not as dramatic and will require continued treatments if you want the results to last. Therefore, we think that laser treatment is the best option as it is long-lasting, noninvasive, and only requires a few sessions.
