Ablative Skin Resurfacing

Ablative Skin Resurfacing

Ablative Skin Resurfacing is a highly effective procedure for rejuvenating aging skin on the face, neck, chest or body. More aggressive than Fractional Laser Resurfacing, Ablative Resurfacing is ideal for extremely sun damaged and aging skin to soften deeper etched lines, eliminate stubborn pigment or age spots, stimulate the production of new collagen to tighten and firm the skin, and to revive dull, lifeless looking skin. Ablative Resurfacing is also effective for the treatment of acne scarring and stretch marks on the body.

  • CO2 Laser is one of the most aggressive laser treatments available, yielding some of the most dramatic results. An intense beam of light is used to remove several layers of the epidermis. As the skin heals, it becomes smoother and tighter, fine lines are eliminated, the depth of deeper wrinkles is reduced, stubborn pigment is lightened or erased. The heat generated during a CO2 treatment also stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin deep in the dermis to tighten and firm the skin. Typically, only 1 treatment of CO2 is required for fantastic results. Downtime can range from 1-2 weeks, depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, with residual redness lasting for 1-3 months. Makeup may be applied once the skin has completely healed. Results are slow and progressive, with noticeable improvement continuing for up to 1 year and results lasting approximately 3-5 years, depending on genetics and how the skin is cared for after treatment.

  • Micro-ablative Radio Frequency (RF) Needling incorporates radio frequency with an ablative plasma energy to deliver both skin tightening deep within the dermis, and ablative resurfacing through a “needling” effect to improve textural irregularities. Typically, 3-6 treatments are required, with results being a more subtle version to those achieved by CO2. Ideal for those who desire the results of a CO2 treatment without having an extended amount of downtime. With Micro-Ablative RF Needling, downtime can range from 2 days- 2 weeks, with residual redness lasting from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment. Makeup may be applied as soon as the skin has completely healed. A maintenance treatment is recommended after 1 year.
